CoolFire is very different to many approaches to Emotional Literacy; it integrates a number of established therapeutic disciplines – such as breathwork, visualisation, dynamic movement, acupressure – and much more – to create very practical routines that can be transparently fitted over the school and home day.
The CoolFire approach is very firmly rooted in an evidence-based rationale that changes many widely-held perspectives on the interaction between Mind, Body and Feelings – and creates a framework of “Positive Inputs” that has a direct bearing on every aspect of Emotional Literacy, positive mental health and wider holistic wellbeing – both for school staff and students.
The Three Central CoolFire Principles

1. We are more than Mind!
We are the manifestation of a constantly changing interaction between “Mind”, Body and Feelings (MBF). CoolFire seeks to create an everyday state of “Energised Calm” in both young people (ages 3-18+) and teachers/staff through working towards a balance between these elements.

2. Thought - Action..?
It is commonly thought that any action, however minor, is first motivated by a thought. But every thought is first rooted in a feeling. Hence, if you change the feeling, you change the subsequent thought and action. With practice, CoolFire enables you to consciously change the feeling - at will - at any time.

3. Every Feeling Creates a Biochemical Response...
… transforming each abstract feeling into a physical event/process. This constantly changing Biofeedback Loop can in turn, further change the way you come to feel or respond - BodyMind - proof of the inseparable Mind-Body Connnection.
CoolFire is completely inclusive.
From Special Needs to Gifted and Talented in schools of all
kinds – including infant, primary, secondary, Specials Schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRU’s) – CoolFire enables every pupil to develop a long-term emotional, mental and physical equilibrium that will not only underpin academic attainment, but also a grounded, Energised Calm.
This in turn creates the ability to make calm, conscious choices. Skills – for Life.
CoolFire has also proved particularly effective in working closely with young people experiencing a number of Special Needs or disadvantage – including: Looked After Children, Autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Emotional Difficulties.
